Loosen your grip, attack more.

Wolf Tooth Locked-In Bar Ends provide unprecedented control and fatigue reduction for high-speed technical riding and racing. They were developed in collaboration with UCI Downhill World Cup rider Joe Breeden.

By allowing riders to push the end of the bar with the outside of their palm, they gain more control over the handlebar and can reduce their grip force. This significantly reduces arm pump, allowing riders to push harder and longer from the top to the bottom of the trail.

Features

Four Benefits

1. Improved Control & Reduced Fatigue

The shape and rubber hardness were thoroughly refined in collaboration with World Cup DH athletes. The ergonomic outboard flange provides solid hand support, offering stability with a lighter grip. This reduces arm pump and enables less fatiguing riding.

2. Loosen Your Grip, Push the Limits

No more death gripping on descents. You can shift weight to the grips and bar ends on descents, allowing you to relax your grip and lean the bike deeper into corners. This reduces strain on your hands while maximizing grip.

3. Finger Protection

The bar ends protrude forward, protecting your hands and pinky fingers from contact with trees and other obstacles. The leading edge is chamfered, designed to deflect rather than snag objects.

4. Unleash Your E-Bike's Potential

Heavier E-bikes require more effort to maneuver. Locked-In Bar Ends create new leverage points, making handling heavy E-bikes significantly easier on descents.

Simple yet Robust Locked-In Structure

A key structure, where a lobed anti-rotation cap and an internal wedge interlock, prevents the bar ends from rotating within the handlebar. This ensures a secure fix and strong mechanical lock even on aggressive descents. Through years of iterative development, they are built to withstand the rigorous demands of a World Cup DH season.

Compatibility

  • Compatible with most carbon and aluminum handlebars with an inner diameter of 18.0mm or greater.
  • Requires grips with open ends for installation. Many grips with closed ends can be used by punching a hole with a dedicated punch (sold separately by Wolf Tooth).
  • Some grips, such as Ergon GA2 and GDH, may have a small lip on the inner plastic liner. In such cases, it is recommended to remove the lip with a rotary tool.

Incompatible Grips

  • Grips with angled cut ends (e.g., Ergon GE1 Evo)
  • Grips with an outboard lock-on clamp, especially those with integrated bar end clamps (e.g., Chromag Squarewave)

Compatibility Notes

  • Deity Speedway Carbon: Has an internal step. May be compatible if not cut.
  • Chromag BZA Carbon: Has an internal step. May be compatible if not cut.
  • Hope 35R Carbon: Not compatible due to narrow inner diameter.
  • *Please note that not all handlebars have been tested, so there may be other incompatible models not listed above.

Installation Instructions

  1. Slide the grip inward from the end of the handlebar.
  2. Insert the bar end and lightly pre-tighten with a 4mm hex key (angle adjustment is not critical yet).
  3. Ensure the hexagonal part of the cap and wedge are properly interlocked.
  4. Return the grip until it contacts the bar end, then tighten the grip's lock collar.
  5. Loosen the bar end, adjust the angle, and then fully tighten to 3Nm.
  6. As the wedge bites into the rubber and the rubber settles, reapply torque multiple times until the bolt no longer spins freely.
  7. Check the brake lever position. It's recommended to move the lever slightly outward so that the outside of your hand rests against the bar end while still allowing comfortable brake engagement.
Note: The rubber will settle and loosen over time, so periodically check and re-tighten the bolt's torque.

Setup Tips

  • The angle of the bar ends is crucial and varies for each rider depending on hand position, wrist angle, brake position, and riding style.
  • If you feel any discomfort (hot spot), a slight angle adjustment can often resolve it.
  • Grips must always be moved slightly inward as per instructions.
  • You may need to move the brake levers slightly outward to adjust reach.
