The Surly Midnight Special is a "road plus" frameset designed for all-day comfort, from rough pavement to light gravel.
It features Surly's original blend of 4130 CroMoly steel (Natch tubing, double-butted main triangle). The flexible ride quality unique to steel ensures less fatigue on long distances.
It accommodates current standards such as flat-mount disc brakes, 12x100mm front/12x142mm rear thru-axles, and a 44mm head tube. It includes rack and fender mounts, and three bottle cage mounts. It's versatile enough for commuting, long-distance touring, and even brevets.
Tire clearance is 700x42c or 27.5x2.35″ without fenders, and 700x38c or 650B x 50mm with fenders.
