This is not a road bike designed for speed.
The RITCHEY MONTEBELLO is an endurance road bike born from the pursuit of how naturally and continuously one can ride for a long time, rather than how fast one can ride.
It's a bicycle that will stick with you even after riding 100km, leaving you with the feeling of "I could go home now, but I still want to keep riding."
It's designed for people who value the quality of time over the numbers of distance, whether for Brevets, ultradistance, or long rides.
The MONTEBELLO deeply reflects the philosophy of Tom Ritchey, who has been riding and building bicycles for over half a century.
Made from Ritchey Logic steel, this frame prioritizes suppleness and reduced fatigue over lightness, delivering a ride that doesn't wear you out even after long hours.
It quietly defies the image of steel being heavy and old-fashioned.
The MONTEBELLO features a steel frame with a carbon fork.
This isn't just for lightness; it serves various purposes such as absorbing fine vibrations from the road, enhancing handling precision, and reducing strain on the shoulders and arms during long distances.
The frameset is compatible with both mechanical and electronic shifting systems.
The MONTEBELLO is recommended for those who:
- Love long rides, or want to challenge themselves to them
- Want to enjoy brevets and rides over 100km rather than see them as "ordeals"
- Prioritize comfort for the body over speed
- Prefer durable tools over passing trends
- Are looking for their "last bike"
Compared to Ritchey's sibling model, the Road Logic, the Montebello is designed with a higher stack, longer wheelbase, and lower bottom bracket position.
These geometry choices provide a sense of security and a stable ride, even on long rides that stretch from sunset to sunrise.
In addition, it comes equipped with practical features that Ritchey fans have long sought, such as fender and rack mounts.
It offers clearance for 40c tires without fenders, and 36c tires even with fenders installed, dedicated mounts for attaching a porter rack or low-rider rack, and also features a threaded hole in the fork crown for attaching a rack light.
Internal dynamo wiring can be set up in the front fork, allowing for a clean look.
And as a symbol of Ritchey forks, it adopts a 1-1/8 inch straight steerer tube, achieving a ride feel that combines precision and suppleness.
