Surly 1x1 SINGLEATOR Tensioner

Developed by Pete Gaigle, a pioneer in Midwest single-speed riding, the 1x1 Singleator allows single-speed beginners to experience the essence of mountain biking without spending unnecessary money. It is particularly difficult and expensive to incorporate track ends if your bike is made of aluminum. By installing this Singleator on the derailleur hanger, you can easily, effectively, and adjustably maintain tension by removing excess chain slack when converting a road-end bike to a single-speed. The Singleator features a triple-shielded spring, compatibility with a wide range of cogs, protection against chain derailment and skipping, perfect chainline adjustment, a floating tension pulley structure, and stainless steel pivot bushings. It has been improved from the original model with a cold-forged main body for increased strength. The 11T pulley provides quiet and smooth chain operation and works with both 1/8" (BMX) and 3/32" (geared bike) chains. Beware of imitations; the Singleator is the original and superior to all other products.
