Both front and rear are the same price. We decided that the Long Haul Trucker touring frame deserved a durable and affordable rack suitable for long journeys, so we designed the NICE RACK for both front and rear. We chose chromoly steel for the material due to its rigidity and ease of repair compared to aluminum (surprised?). The ease of repair under harsh conditions should be considered for any product. In the rare event that a rack breaks, even in a remote part of the world, you'll be able to find someone to repair it with TIG, MIG welding, brazing, or soldering... but you won't get that valuable experience with an aluminum rack. The height-adjustable front rack is designed for both low-rider and high-rider panniers. Attaching panniers in the low-rider position allows for stable riding, but you'll encounter difficulties on rocky terrain or rutted trails. The upper rail of the rack provides space to re-attach bags in such situations. This structure above the wheel also increases carrying capacity, making it perfect for attaching lightweight sleeping bags or small tents when other space is unavailable. The rack itself attaches directly to the fork, 165mm from the dropout, via blade-shaped bosses in the middle of the rack. This is a standard mounting position for many touring forks, including the Long Haul Trucker. We also provide hardware to securely attach the NICE RACK to forks without blades. The rear rack is height-adjustable, allowing you to lower the center of gravity as much as possible for stable riding. It includes mounting hardware compatible with all sizes of Long Haul Trucker frames (42cm-62cm), so it should be easy to install on your frame. The wide structure provides ample space for panniers, sleeping bags, tents, lima bean containers, or small cages packed with hamsters. The NICE RACK features a black or silver powder coat for corrosion resistance and a good look. The included stainless steel hardware is compatible with most rigid frames from 26 inches to 700c, as well as forks with drum, caliper, and cantilever brakes. It is generally not compatible with disc brakes or suspension frames and forks.
