The innovative "Synchwire" mesh upper is made from a single piece of extremely lightweight monofilament mesh, with heat-fused Teijin® TPU reinforcements strategically placed for maximum effectiveness, wrapping the foot like a second skin.
This ultra-lightweight, high-rigidity "Synchwire" mesh upper material was developed in collaboration with Teijin.
It is a special composite material called "SL Monofilament Mesh" (an ultra-thin, lightweight, and strong monofilament mesh) and custom monofilament fibers, with welded reinforcements of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) film where strength is needed.
This strong composite material is thin and flexible, yet extremely resistant to tension, friction, and tearing, and is also resistant to age-related deterioration. Therefore, for instantaneous movements in cycling and prolonged wear, it offers high strength and durability, providing efficient and precise support, and a comfortable fit that makes you almost forget you're wearing it.
To create cycling shoes that offer ultra-comfortable fit with a minimalist design, we developed dual BOA IP1 dials with a new concept: "soft lace guides."
The IP1 dial allows for micro-adjustments of +/- 1mm and macro-release.
The unique "double-double" lace routing, symmetrically placed over the instep, gently and precisely holds the foot as the dial is tightened, thanks to the soft lace guides.
These soft lace guides connect the BOA IP1 dial wire to the lightweight and flexible Synchwire upper material in a way that flexibly envelops the wire. This creates appropriate flexibility when turning the dial and tightening the wire, maximizing the "second-skin comfort" that is the greatest feature of the Synchwire mesh upper, and achieving unprecedented comfort in BOA dials.
The included SuperNatural Fit Kit insole includes three arch supports (low, medium, and high) that can be adjusted to individual foot shapes.
This can reduce foot discomfort, numbness, and pain during riding, and also improve the fit from the arch to the heel.
The surface fabric of the insole, X-Static FIBERS, contains a layer of pure silver in its fibers.
Silver ions have antibacterial and deodorizing properties, as well as a heat-suppressing effect, thus keeping the inside of the shoe hygienically comfortable at all times.
