Peak Design
In 2010, Peak Design successfully raised funds on Kickstarter in the US, instantly making a name for itself in the global photography industry.
The product that emerged, Capture, was a groundbreaking solution by founder Peter Dering to his frustrations with photography outdoors. "When I wanted to take pictures while skiing, I had to stop, stick my poles into the ground, remove my backpack straps, take off my backpack, and then take out my camera. And then reverse the whole process after taking the picture... I couldn't do that every time. The moment I wanted to capture would quickly pass." From that experience, he conceived, designed, and produced a product that offered quick and easy access to the camera at any time, while also safely carrying it.
With funding from many people around the world who shared the same frustrations, the product was successfully commercialized, and the Capture, through repeated updates, is now beloved by outdoor photographers and people worldwide.
