It's a name derived from the word "Signature."
"Something that can be cherished for a long time, regardless of trends."
This is a belief that Grumpy has held throughout its engagement with bicycle culture.
As a bicycle shop, amidst the vast array of products and services available, we considered what is truly necessary and distilled it into the Sig. brand.
Our products originate from the real ideas that emerge from the essential experiences, enjoyment, and practicality of people who truly love bicycles, whether for work, hobbies, or daily transportation, and who have thoroughly used them.
Our products are not special, like those that win races or are created by famous people.
They are simply the result of a bicycle shop earnestly considering what is truly needed.
We want to be a presence that blends into your cycling life and can be used for a long time.
This is the wish with which we started the brand "Sig."
◆What is Rando?
The name Rando comes from "Randonneur," a traditional touring bicycle.
Japan has unique roads different from those overseas.
For example, diverse road conditions are concentrated here, such as steep mountainous areas, the Shimanami Kaido cycling road, and city streets with many uneven pavements.
The uses are also diverse.
They include commuting with a change of clothes and a bento box, cycling the Shimanami Kaido or mountainous areas on weekends, and overnight camping tours during long holidays.
The Randonneur style of bicycle is perfect for such a wide range of uses.
Rando is our updated, modern version of this long-loved style.
As a bicycle shop, we have sold and used many touring bikes over the years.
Through that experience, we realized there wasn't a perfect bike that truly met our needs.
That's when the desire to create an even more user-friendly bicycle emerged, resulting in Rando.
Rando has large tire clearance, allowing for many different tires and fenders.
It features a sturdy frame and fork design that can withstand carrying heavy loads, suitable for a trip around Japan.
Eyelets are also provided for various carriers.
We believe that Rando's broad versatility will serve customers well throughout many stages of their lives.

◆Standard Frame Colors
All standard frame colors for Sig.Rando are "powder coated."
The characteristic of powder coating is its "durability."
This method is used for traffic lights and guardrails in harsh environments. The thick coating is resistant to scratches, making it strong against minor damage from chain contact and mud splatters.
Another key point is that it's environmentally friendly, as it doesn't use organic solvents!
The durable powder coating protects the frame and parts, allowing them to be cherished and used for a longer time.
There are 7 new standard colors for Sig.Rando. You can choose your favorite color from the options below.

◆Sig.Rando Original Colors
Eight colors, inspired by experiences gained in the Hiroshima region and evocative of Japan, are the original colors for Sig.Rando.
Painting in the colors below is available for an additional 22,000 to 26,620 yen.
1. Setouchi
It feels like the nutrient-rich water flowing from the mountains into the Japanese sea surrounded by islands.
Actually, I thought a brighter color would be good.
However, the bitter memory of a Grumpy painter capsizing in the Seto Inland Sea when he was sailing a yacht prevented that.
The Seto Inland Sea, sometimes calm, sometimes harsh.
We aimed to create a sea color that blends into everyday life and never gets old.
2. Icho
Ginkgo leaves just starting to change color, slightly greenish, with a muted, subdued feel.
The yellow colors found in nature are beautiful and difficult to describe in a single word.
When the Grumpy painter goes into the mountains in autumn, he always thinks:
There are no sparkling primary colors in nature.
The mountain colors I always saw were slightly muted, intermediate shades.
We aimed to create a mountain color that blends into abundant nature.
3. Momiji
A universally recognized traditional Japanese color, like the beautiful autumn leaves or traditional crafts.
Something that has blended into Japan, like lacquerware, shrine torii gates, vermilion seal ink, and even appearing in the Manyoshu.
Takenoshita, who loves art, wanted to incorporate a "Japanese" image.
A historical color that radiates dignity, though modest.
We aimed to create a vermilion color that has been passed down in Japan.
4. Nashiji
Black, a color often used as a safe choice. But it's not just any black.
When I look at traditional Japanese lacquerware trays and box crafts, I realize that the colors enhance each other.
I believe that the gold and silver details and patterns within the color emphasize each other, creating a magnificent masterpiece.
Nashiji is the name of a technique for enhancing colors.
Black stands out because there is something shining. It can shine because there is black.
I believe such an interdependence of colors definitely exists.
We aimed to create a color that makes "black shine."
5. Crema
The image was the silky, shimmering crema of an espresso.
Grumpy has an adjacent cafe, so it's a staple color in our daily lives that naturally catches the eye.
Crema is the rich, fine foam that floats on top of espresso, and it's essential for a delicious espresso.
I want the bike's color to be rooted in everyday life, like daily coffee.
We created it with this sentiment in mind.
6. Kaki (Persimmon)
In late autumn, the painter had a persimmon tree on the mountain pass he commuted on.
Its fruits ripened on the tree, unnoticed and untouched by anyone.
When the fruits were ripe enough to be translucent, their color, illuminated by the setting sun, was truly beautiful.
The color "Kaki" was created with the desire to convey this beauty.
7. Titanium
When you get seriously into cycling as a hobby, you'll eventually encounter "titanium."
Its subdued, shining silver is a mysterious color that goes well with all other component colors.
The paint surface is matte, giving it a calm and sophisticated adult impression.
The color "Titanium" was created with the desire for a timeless color that you can live with for a long time.
8. Yomogi (Mugwort)
Mugwort is not special; it is a familiar plant that has been around us unchanged for a long time.
It has been enjoyed as medicine, in mochi, and as tea for many years.
It has a classic atmosphere and good coloration, a color that blends into daily life.
The color "Yomogi" was created with this in mind.

◆Head Badge
A "brass head badge" is attached to the front of the frame.
The design is inspired by Miyajima, an island floating in the Seto Inland Sea.
The brass badge changes color over time, gradually deepening in hue.
For those who use it for daily commutes and cyclists who use it for weekend hobbies.
The head badge changes color depending on how each person uses it.
We attach it as a final touch, wishing for the safety of every person who rides Sig.Rando.
◆Decal
The frame set features the "Sig.Rando" logo.
The logo is a white decal.
Decals gradually deteriorate and become prone to peeling off after long-term use of the bicycle.
The time when they start to peel off with use happens to coincide with the recommended time for an overhaul (the process of disassembling and thoroughly cleaning the bicycle), making it a good indicator for maintenance timing.
Furthermore, by making the Sig.Rando logo a decal as a standard feature, it is possible to reproduce the standard specifications at a lower cost even when the frame is repainted.
