We started Sig.Rando with the hope that our products would blend into your daily life and be used for a long time to come.

Sig.Rando was born as Grumpy's original bicycle.

We are grateful to so many customers for their support, which has allowed us to continue selling it.

It's designed to be easy to use for holiday camping tours, convenient for urban commuting, and a partner for everyday life.

Sig.Rando has been customized to change its appearance and form to meet the diverse needs of our customers. We would be delighted if it could be of service in your cycling life.

Allow us to reintroduce what Sig.Rando truly is.

◆What is Sig.?

It's a name derived from "Signature."

"Products that can be cherished for a long time, regardless of trends."

This is Grumpy's long-held belief, upheld through bicycle culture.

As a bicycle shop, we've considered what is truly necessary amidst the diverse range of products and services available in the world, and we've distilled it into the Sig. brand.

The real ideas that emerged from the essential experiences, play, and practical use by people who genuinely love bicycles—whether for work, hobbies, or daily transportation—are the origin of our products.

Our products are not special items that win races or are made by famous people.

They are simply the result of a bicycle shop diligently considering what is truly needed.

We want to be something that blends into daily cycling life and can be used forever.

That is the wish that started the "Sig." brand.

◆What is Rando?

The name Rando comes from Randonneur, a traditional touring bicycle.

Japan has unique roads different from overseas.

For example, diverse road conditions are condensed here, such as steep mountainous areas, cycling roads in the Seto Inland Sea, and urban areas with many uneven paved roads.

Usage purposes are also diverse.

From commuting with a change of clothes and a bento box, cycling to Shimanami Kaido or mountainous areas on weekends, to overnight camping tours during long holidays—the ways it can be used are varied.

The Randonneur style of bicycle is perfect for such a wide range of uses.

Rando is our modern update of this long-loved style.

As a bicycle shop, we have sold and used many touring bikes over the years.

What we experienced during that time was the lack of a perfect bicycle that truly met our needs.

That's when the desire to create an easier-to-use bicycle awoke, and Rando was born.

Rando has large tire clearance, allowing many different tires and fenders to be fitted.

Its sturdy frame and fork design can withstand carrying a large amount of luggage, suitable for a trip around Japan.

Eyelets are also available for various carriers.

We believe Rando's broad versatility will be useful in many stages of your life.

◆Standard Frame Colors

All standard frame colors for Sig.Rando are "powder paint."

The characteristic of powder paint is its "durability."

This method is used for traffic lights and guardrails in harsh environments. The thick coating is resistant to scratches, making it strong against minor damage from the chain area and mud splashes.

It's also environmentally friendly, as it doesn't use organic solvents!

The durable powder paint protects the foundation of the frame and parts, allowing them to be cherished and used for longer.

Sig.Rando has 7 new standard colors. You can choose your favorite color from the options below.

From left to right in the photo:
・Lemon Yellow
・Sea Green
・Distant Blue
・Khaki Gray
・Olive Green
・Red Violet
・Black

If you choose from these 7 colors, you can place an order without any upcharge. Furthermore, you can even paint the frame and fork in different colors from these 7 options.

※All standard colors are single-color paints, and the "Sig. Rando" logo will be a white decal.

◆Sig.Rando Original Colors

Eight colors, inspired by Japan and created from experiences gained in the fields of Hiroshima, are the original colors of Sig.Rando.

1. Setouchi

It feels like the rich, nourishing water flowing from the mountains into the Japanese sea surrounded by islands.
Actually, I thought a brighter color would be better.
However, a bitter memory from when the Grumpy painter capsized in the Seto Inland Sea on a yacht prevented that.
The Seto Inland Sea, sometimes calm, sometimes harsh.
We aimed for a sea color that blends into everyday life and doesn't get old.

2. Icho

The ginkgo leaves beginning to change color, slightly green, a muted, subdued feeling.
The yellow colors found in nature are beautiful and hard to describe in a single word.
When the Grumpy painter goes into the autumn mountains, he always thinks about one thing:
There are no bright primary colors in nature.
The mountain colors I always saw were slightly muted, intermediate colors.
We aimed for a mountain color that blends into the rich nature.

3. Momiji

A traditional Japanese color known to all, the beautiful autumn foliage, like a traditional craft.
Lacquerware, shrine gates, ink for seals, and things integrated into Japan that even appear in the Manyoshu.
Takenoshita, who loves art, wanted to incorporate a "Japanese" image.
A historical color that exudes dignity despite its modesty.
We aimed for the vermillion color inherited in Japan.

4. Nashiji

Black, a color often used as a safe choice. But it's not just black.
Looking at traditional Japanese crafts like lacquer trays and boxwork, I realize that the colors enhance each other.
I believe that the gold and silver details and patterns within the colors, by emphasizing each other, create a magnificent masterpiece.
Nashiji is the name of a technique for enhancing colors.
Black is accentuated by something shining. It can shine precisely because there is black.
I truly believe there is such a duality of colors.
We aimed for a color that would make "black shine."

5.Crema

The image was the silken sheen of espresso crema.

Grumpy has an adjacent cafe, so it's a standard color in daily life that naturally catches the eye.

Crema is the rich and fine foam floating on top of espresso, an indispensable part of a delicious espresso.

We want this to be a bicycle color rooted in daily life, like daily coffee.

We created it with that thought in mind.

6.Persimmon

In late autumn, there was a bitter persimmon tree on the mountain pass the painter used to commute on.

Its fruits ripened on the tree, unnoticed and unpicked.

When the fruits were ripe enough to be translucent, their color, illuminated by the setting sun, was truly beautiful.

The color "Persimmon" was created with the desire to convey this beauty.

7.Titanium

When you get seriously into cycling as a hobby, you'll eventually encounter "titanium."

Its subdued, shining silver color is mysteriously compatible with parts of all colors.

The paint surface is matte, giving it a calm, mature impression.

The color "Titanium" was created with the desire for it to be a color that never gets old and can be cherished for a long time.

8.Yomogi (Mugwort)

Mugwort is not special; it's a familiar plant that has been around us for a long time.

It's been used as medicine, in mochi, and as tea for many years.

A color with a classic atmosphere and good hue, blending into daily life.

The color "Yomogi" was created with that thought in mind.

◆Head Badge

A "brass head badge" is affixed to the front of the frame.
The design is inspired by Miyajima floating in the Seto Inland Sea.
The brass badge changes color over time, gradually deepening in hue.
For those who use it for daily commuting, or as a hobby for weekend cyclists.
The head badge's color changes depending on how it's used.
It is affixed as a final touch, wishing for the safety of each person riding a Sig.Rando.

◆Decal

The frame set features the "Sig.Rando" logo.
The logo is a white decal type.
Decals gradually deteriorate and become prone to peeling off after long-term use of the bicycle.
The time when peeling starts due to use coincides nicely with the recommended time for an overhaul (the process of disassembling and thoroughly cleaning the bicycle), serving as a good indicator for maintenance.
Furthermore, by making the Sig.Rando logo a decal as a standard feature, even if the frame is repainted, the standard specifications can be reproduced at a lower cost.
