Affordable custom ideas to refresh your everyday fixie bike
Here's a custom build for someone who wants to ride their Steamroller in a more relaxed posture.

○Before
This Steamroller is used for daily commuting.
The owner consulted us about wanting to ride in a more relaxed posture,
so we customized it by combining Grumpy original parts.
○After
It was originally a simple fixed-gear Steamroller, but
it became much cuter after swapping to "SimWorks/Volummy" tires with tan sidewalls.
The tire size is 700x32C. This width looks the most balanced.
Although the appearance has changed quite a bit, only four parts were customized:
・Handlebar...grumpy Original Handlebar GH-002
・Tires...SimWorks/Volummy
・Front Basket...WALD 37 Basket
・Rack...NITTO M-1B front rack
That's all.
The great thing about the simple Steamroller is that just these few changes can completely transform its look.

By the way, the total cost for this project, including labor, was about 50,000 yen.
Incidentally, the handlebar installed before the custom build was the classic track bike handlebar:
By using Grumpy's original handlebar and stem,
your upper body will be much more upright, allowing for a relaxed riding posture.

As an additional part, a front basket was added.
The combination of a NITTO M-1B front rack and a WALD 37 Basket
is now a standard setup for front baskets.
The ease of customization is one of the joys of single-speed bikes!
