With this in mind, Grumpy proposes bicycle products every day. In addition to providing items that can be used for a long time, we also focus on repairs and maintenance so that what you already own can be used even longer.

However, the world is still dominated by mass production and mass consumption, and things that can still be used are disposed of, and even new items are discarded as unnecessary. I believe our lives also contribute, to some extent, to the waste of resources and environmental pollution.

In such a situation, is there anything we can do? Perhaps it's part of the culture surrounding bicycles, or a part of our business as a bike shop. After much thought, we decided to start by increasing our handling of used products!

This is because I realized anew that used products themselves contribute to using a single item for a long time and carefully utilizing limited resources.

What is "unnecessary" to one person may be "necessary" to another. For example, do you have a bicycle at home that you no longer use? Do you have leftover custom parts at home, a broken derailleur that no longer works, or junk items like a stem with rusted screws that you don't know how to dispose of? Is there anyone like that?

Do you want to build a bicycle but want to make it a little cheaper? Do you want to use high-quality parts even if they have scratches? Do you need replacement parts to repair the parts you are currently using? Is there anyone like that?

Grumpy acts as a bridge for such people, offering trade-ins, purchases, and sales of used products.

【About Trade-in/Purchase Methods】

You can choose from two methods for trade-ins and purchases of bicycle products: ① In-store appraisal and ② Shipping appraisal.

① In-store appraisal
This is a method where you bring your bicycle products directly to the store.
In this case, we will conduct an immediate official appraisal.
Please contact us in advance to let us know your planned visit date.

② Shipping appraisal
This is a method where you ship your bicycle products for trade-in or purchase.
Please use this method if you wish to trade in or sell from a distant location.
We will provide a preliminary appraisal via the inquiry form in advance, and after the product arrives, we will conduct an official appraisal and inform you of the final amount.

【About Shipping Appraisal】

If you request a trade-in or purchase of bicycle products from a distant location, the appraisal will proceed as follows:

① Request a preliminary appraisal using the trade-in/purchase inquiry form.
② We will contact you with the preliminary appraisal amount within 3 business days.
③ If you are satisfied with the preliminary appraisal amount, you will ship the product.
④ After the product arrives, we will contact you with the official appraisal amount within 3 business days.
⑤ If you are satisfied with the official appraisal amount, we will pay you for the product.

【How to Request a Preliminary Appraisal】

Please fill in the required information in the trade-in/purchase inquiry form below and submit it.
After confirming your preliminary appraisal request, we will contact you with the preliminary appraisal amount within 3 business days.

If you do not receive a reply within 3 days after sending the email, please contact us by phone.

【About Shipping Products】

If you are satisfied with the preliminary appraisal amount, please provide the following customer information:

◆ Your address, phone number
◆ Identity verification document
→ Driver's license, health insurance card, etc.
(The address on the identity verification document must match your current address)
Please include a photo or copy of the document clearly showing its contents when shipping.

Once we confirm your address, we will send you a shipping label for delivery.
Please use it to ship your products.
Shipping is "free".

【About Official Appraisal】

After your product arrives at our company, we will contact you with the official appraisal result within 3 business days.
If you are satisfied with the official appraisal amount, please let us know your preferred payment method.
*Please note that if you cancel after requesting an official appraisal, you will be responsible for the return shipping fee.

【About Payment Methods】

You can choose from two payment methods: ① Cash, ② Grumpy Points (10% increase in appraisal amount).

① For cash payments
→ Please inform us of your preferred bank transfer destination. We will transfer the funds at the end of the month in which the trade-in/purchase is finalized.

② For Grumpy Points payments
→ These are original points awarded when customers who have registered a Grumpy account at the store or online shop make a purchase. 1 point is equivalent to 1 yen.
If you choose this payment method, your appraisal amount will be increased by 10%.

Points will be awarded within 24 hours after confirming your Grumpy in-store membership registration.

If you wish to use this option, we recommend registering as a member in advance.

－What kind of photos are needed for a preliminary appraisal?

●For bicycles, please refer to the following photos.
1. Photo of the right side of the bicycle body

●For parts, please refer to the following photos.
1. Photo showing the manufacturer and model name

2. Photo showing scratches and dirt on each part

－Can I trade in or sell bicycles/parts purchased from other stores?

Yes, you can. However, bicycles are limited to those with metal frames (chromoly, aluminum, titanium, etc.).

－Can I trade in or sell bicycles from any manufacturer?

Yes, you can. Bicycles from manufacturers not handled by Grumpy are also fine.

－Can I trade in or sell used items with scratches or dirt?

Yes, you can. Please send photos of the scratched or dirty areas via the inquiry form.

The more detailed the photos you send, the more accurate the appraisal can be, and the smaller the difference between the preliminary and final appraisals.

Please also include photos of any areas of concern before appraisal, such as scratched or worn parts.

－Can I trade in or sell heavily rusted parts or parts that no longer work?

Yes, you can. However, please note that depending on the condition, an appraisal value may not be assigned.

－Is it possible to trade in or sell custom bicycles?

Yes, it is possible. In addition to the bicycle, please attach photos of the custom parts.

Photos of individual parts such as handlebars, stems, wheels, and derailleurs would be helpful.

Separately, a list of specifications for the custom bicycle would allow for a more detailed appraisal.

If there are any scratches on the bicycle or parts, please also include photos of those areas.

－Is it possible to request a trade-in or purchase from a distant location?

Yes, it is possible.
Please apply for a preliminary appraisal via the inquiry form.

After the preliminary appraisal, if you are satisfied with the amount, please send the used item to Grumpy.

After inspecting the actual item, we will conduct an official appraisal and determine the final amount.

－Can I cancel the trade-in/purchase after the final appraisal?

Yes, it is possible.
However, please note that you will be responsible for the return shipping costs of the used item.

－What are the methods for receiving the trade-in/purchase amount?

You can choose between two methods: "Bank Transfer" or "Grumpy Points".

For bank transfers, payment will be made at the end of the month in which the trade-in/purchase of the used item is finalized.

For Grumpy Points, the appraisal amount will be increased by 10%.

*Grumpy Points are original points awarded when customers who have registered as Grumpy members at the store make a purchase. 1 point can be used as 1 yen in the Grumpy store.

If you plan to purchase a new bicycle or parts at Grumpy after selling your item, this is recommended.

－What documents are required for trade-in/purchase?

Please prepare identification documents (driver's license, health insurance card, etc.).

Upon final appraisal, you will be asked to submit a copy or photo data of your identification document.

Also, if your bicycle is registered for theft prevention, please provide the registration document.
