How water resistant is it? I tested the Rapha Explore Bar Bag by splashing water on it.

When cycling, you'll want to carry tools, your smartphone, wallet, and other small items.

Having just one bike bag can help you organize your belongings, making for a more comfortable cycling experience.

Recently, Ikeda, a staff member known for bringing rain wherever he goes, acquired the Rapha Explore Bar Bag.

Its compact size makes it a perfect fit for drop handlebars, and what's particularly impressive is its high water resistance. No one wants their belongings to get wet in a sudden downpour, right?

So, this time, we're going to check its water resistance! We actually experimented by pouring water on it.

The Rapha Explore Bar Bag is made from 100% recycled nylon.

It features a water-repellent finish on the outside and a waterproof finish on the inside, making it resistant to bad weather.

Since it's Staff Ikeda's personal item, we didn't hold back, soaking it thoroughly with water and rubbing the fabric to check its water resistance.

Thanks to the water-repellent treatment on the outside, most of the water ran off, leaving only a faint trace of droplets.

The zipper area is covered by the fabric from above, so no water permeated through there either.

Now, let's take a look inside.

The inside was completely dry and felt smooth.

Even though I tried my best to get water to penetrate, anticipating heavy rain or rough use where the bag might rub against things, the contents remained dry and safe.

Given that it held up so well to this test, its water resistance should be perfectly fine for normal cycling.

Next, let's look at the interior of the Rapha Explore Bar Bag.

Inside the bag, there are elastic bands for securing tools, tubes, and other items, allowing for organized storage.

With everything clearly visible, you won't have to wonder, "Where's that tool?"

The Rapha Explore Bar Bag has a capacity of 2.4 liters.

It's large enough to comfortably hold cycling essentials like keys and a pump.

We recommend these compact locks to go with it:

ABUS COMBIFLEX 2503/120 + UCH 2503 ¥4,950

ABUS Combiflex 2503/120 C/SB ¥3,993

For a compact portable pump, this is recommended:

PDW NINJA Pump ¥4,800

The head tube section has an elastic cord that can be secured with a single touch.

It offers a high degree of freedom in positioning, easily accommodating large diameter tubes.

We installed it on a bicycle with full internal cabling, where all cables run inside the frame.

This is the Chapter2 KOKO.

The bag sits at an angle, tucking slightly backward.

Since the opening of the bag faces forward, it's less likely to interfere with your bike computer, and it's easier to access your belongings.

The Rapha Explore Bar Bag has a built-in belt on the back that can be stored inside.

When attached to your bike, you can keep it stored inside, then take it out and use it as a shoulder strap when you dismount.

It's convenient for carrying after you get off your bike.
