We installed the [MAVIC ALL ROAD SL], which can handle wide tires.
I actually tried installing the MAVIC ALL ROAD SL wheelset, which is popular for upgrading gravel bikes.
They say changing your wheels changes your ride, and I really felt it the moment I started riding.
It's like shifting two gears lighter, or making your tires 5mm narrower, or switching to slick tires in the center. That's how it felt.

The ALL ROAD SL recently underwent a model change. From the 2024 model year, the rim width has expanded from 22mm to 25mm, allowing for wider tires to be installed.
Additionally, the logo design has been refreshed, giving it a simple and modern look.
The ALL ROAD SL is compatible with a wide range of tire widths, from 30mm to 64mm. This tire width range covers endurance road to gravel road tires, and even extends to MTB tire widths.
This time, I installed it on a KONA SUTRA LTD. The tires are MAXXIS Recon Race, 29x2.25. Of course, this width works fine.

Another key feature is its "tubeless, tapeless, hookless" specification!
"Tubeless" provides a more comfortable ride and eliminates worries about punctures.
"Tapeless" means no need to re-tape the rim, prevents air leaks, and makes tire setup easier.
"Hookless" features a lightweight and simple structure, and is easy to clean.
Surprisingly, there aren't many wheelsets that adopt these "three -less" features.

The ALL ROAD SL is a top-of-the-line model among aluminum wheelsets, characterized by its high durability designed to handle some bumpy roads.
This is great, as we often encounter bumps and rough roads in rural areas and city streets.

If you're currently riding a complete bike, I think choosing this for a wheel upgrade would be a good idea.
The ALL ROAD SL wheelset weighs approximately 2088g for both front and rear, making it lighter than most standard wheels on bikes like Surly or Kona, which will make riding on flats and climbs easier.
I immediately installed them and went for a hill climb the other day, and the joy of having new wheels, combined with the climb, made the ascent even more enjoyable.

The standard hub specifications are 100x12mm for the front and 142x12mm for the rear, but by installing separately sold adapters, they can also be compatible with 100mm QR and 135mm QR.
While various hub standards have emerged recently, the ability to install them on various bicycles using adapters is also attractive.
They are also recommended for those who have long enjoyed cross-country MTBs, such as older models of Surly's Karate Monkey and Salsa's El Mariachi, as the specifications are compatible.

The aero spokes adopted for the ALL ROAD SL have a strong visual impact from the side, completely transforming the appearance.
The extremely thick aero spokes, the small number of spokes on the front and rear (24 spokes), and the textured rims.
Performance is, of course, important, but a cool appearance is also a crucial factor in enjoying cycling.

The MAVIC ALL ROAD SL is perfect for changing the image of your beloved bike or upgrading it.
Please consider it for your next customization!
