[Challenge for the Almost 40s] Gokurakuji Hill Climb: Challenging My Own Record from 7 Years Ago! Video Compilation Page

The final installment of the project to challenge my own record from seven years ago was on July 15th. This blog is a summary page documenting the six-month challenge (11 videos).

The Gokurakuji Hill Climb has a Strava segment. Locals and anyone from outside the prefecture who visits Grumpy are encouraged to take on the challenge. It's 1km shorter than Shiraishi Pass in Kanto, with almost the same elevation gain.

During the six-month challenge, I lost 17kg (from 86kg to 68kg), successfully dropping below my weight from seven years ago, but I couldn't beat my target time.

・Best time: 23 minutes 50 seconds
・Target time: under 28 minutes

The reason was a lack of power; I think I lost too much weight, which led to a decrease in muscle strength.

"Challenging Myself from Seven Years Ago" Chapter 2 begins. The theme is strength (power) training.

I will be training (morning practice) every Sunday morning at Gokurakuji Mountain.
For those of you in your 40s, don't give up yet! Let's meet there!

In Chapter 2, I will continue to push the pedals, aiming for a target time of under 24 minutes. Your support is greatly appreciated.
