[Information disclosure] Cervélo 2026 Model Test Ride Impression

Hello, I'm Saito, and I'm on my fifth day at the company. I'm still learning the ropes, but I was fortunate enough to join the frontline of the industry right away!

The day before, I went to the Motocross International exhibition in Nagoya and test-rode several new models.

I had so much to share, but as it's not yet public, details will follow later, so stay tuned!

The next day, I attended a Cervélo test ride event.

I was able to test ride the new R5, which was globally unveiled today at 4 PM!

About the R5

I immediately experienced the responsiveness unique to lightweight bikes, where they move forward as soon as you pedal.

The overall rigidity balance of the frame is excellent; when torque is applied, it converts into propulsion, moving the bike forward swiftly.

The stability, which firmly accepts pedaling power rather than a flimsy feel, was also appealing.

It converts power directly, moving forward steadily without wobbling. The climbing performance is superb!

When dancing, the swing is light, and it extends as if flying while absorbing power.

It can accommodate tires up to 34c, making long rides comfortable!

Equipped with a one-piece handlebar, it has improved lightness and aerodynamic performance.

I recommend this bike to those who want to ride a complete bike weighing less than 6kg, enjoy climbing, want a light and highly responsive bike, or are hill climbers aiming for races like Fuji Hill!

About the S5 and Áspero5

Although they have already been announced, I test rode them.

The S5 was incredibly fast. I felt no air resistance; it glided forward like a Shinkansen.

The rigidity is very stiff, and compared to other models, there are vibrations from bumps, but since it glides forward so smoothly, it offers a completely different kind of enjoyment compared to the other two models.

The design also showcased mechanisms to cut through the air everywhere, giving it a linear beauty.

Would it be appropriate to describe the Áspero5 not as a gravel bike, but as an aero road bike that can fit wide tires?

It's very strange. Despite being a gravel bike, it moves like a road bike. It's fast.

The responsiveness wasn't overly twitchy; the frame had a stiffness that felt just right and easy to handle.

That concludes my test ride impressions of the three models. Although I'm still new, I was able to deliver a test ride review immediately after the global unveiling of the R5.
