Long rides to enjoy on the Sig. Rando! "Two key points" for comfortable long-distance cycling

A cafe in the next town, a hot spring deep in the mountains, a ramen shop rumored to be delicious, scenic spots along the sea and mountains.

Long-distance cycling is a way to enjoy riding a bicycle for long distances that you would normally drive by car.

↑A long-distance ride I did the other day from Hiroshima Prefecture to Tokusagamine Auto Campsite in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The distance was about 120km.

Bicycling offers the perfect speed for enjoying the surrounding scenery and stopping at shops along the way, allowing you to fully appreciate places and tourist attractions that you might miss by car.

(Actually, once you've ridden a long distance with your own legs, your sense of distance can become distorted, and short distances may feel close. This is an interesting point about long-distance cycling.)

Now, to enjoy long-distance cycling, it's important to be able to ride your bicycle comfortably for extended periods.

If you're tense or stressed, your ride won't be enjoyable.

The Sig. Rando allows you to enjoy such a relaxed long-distance ride.

These two points are key.

Point ① Comfortable ride with wide tires!

The Sig. Rando can be fitted with wide tires. The maximum width for each wheel size is "26x2.35", "27.5x2.22 (650bx56)", and "700x43c".

Wide tires absorb impacts from the road surface well, reducing vibrations transmitted to your hands, allowing you to comfortably enjoy long-distance rides.

If your long-distance route goes through mountainous areas or includes gravel roads, you might consider using semi-block type tires!

Point ② Long wheelbase and excellent straight-line stability!

The Sig. Rando is designed with a long front-to-back wheelbase, making it excellent for long stretches of straight roads. (Imagine a freight truck, and it might make more sense!)

The front of the Sig. Rando frame is extended to prevent toe overlap, even when wide tires or fenders are installed.

The rear of the frame is designed to be longer to prevent heel strike even when pannier bags are attached.

With its long front-to-back frame, the Sig. Rando offers high straight-line stability, making it perfect for long stretches of road.

The stable straight-line performance is also useful on routes with continuous dirt forest roads, so you can enjoy gravel riding as well.

Customers in Hiroshima who have become accustomed to the Sig. Rando are gradually attempting long rides, with "Shimanami Kaido" and "Suo-Oshima" being popular courses recently.

Haven't tried anything new lately? Why not start long-distance cycling?
