Fully refurbish the painter's beloved BROMPTON with an overhaul and repainting

The painter's beloved Brompton was worn out, so we gave it a full refresh, including a new paint job.

This is what it looked like before the overhaul.

Because it's folded many times, the brake cable has frayed.

Also, the bottom bracket was stiff and needed to be replaced.

The chain was also stretched out.

Small-wheel bikes put a lot of strain on the chain, so it's important to check it.

This time, the sprocket teeth were also worn down, so we replaced them with new ones.

All genuine Brompton colors are powder-coated.

It's a durable paint, but after 8 years, it's certainly showing its age.

Now that the necessary parts have been listed,

we'll disassemble and paint it.

Here's the frame after painting.

The color was repainted in the same genuine powder-coated yellow.

The hinges on Brompton's folding parts are press-fitted and riveted in place.

We use special tools to disassemble and assemble them.

The hinges cannot be reused, so they are replaced with new ones.

Logo decals are also available as genuine parts.

This time, we chose black.

Other options include silver and white.

With an overhaul and repaint, it has regained its new-bike shine!

In addition, to go with the overhaul, the M-type handlebars were customized to straight bars.

It's now set up to ride faster.

Brompton repaint costs ¥66,000 (tax included) and up (includes hinge, decal, and labor fees).

Delivery time is approximately 2-3 weeks.
