The custom Surly Midnight Special is complete.

The "Midnight Special," a tough road bike proposed by Surly, has been completed.

The frameset was repainted with a candy color gradient, and with the incorporation of black and silver parts, it has become a very stylish bike.

Now, let's introduce the handlebar area.

The handlebar installed is the Whisky No.7 12F. It's surprisingly hard to find a silver gravel handlebar.

For the headset, we chose the silver Chris King InSet7, which has the highest installation rate on the Midnight Special.

It looks great paired with the Thomson stem and Whisky handlebars!

Shimano Ultegra brake/shift levers were installed. These are mechanical shifters, and the brakes are cable-actuated.

When customizing various parts, cable-actuated types still offer a wide range of options, and are characterized by being easy to self-maintain.

The WTB Silverado saddle offers a simple appearance with excellent comfort and cushioning. It's an all-around model that excels in road, gravel, and MTB categories.

We installed Mavic Allroad SL series wheels.

Of course, with tubeless specifications, the ride comfort is perfect! It also pairs well with GOODYEAR COUNTY 650 tires!

COUNTY tires feature a slick center and block-patterned sides.

They ride lightly on paved roads, and when venturing off-road or onto gravel, the block pattern engages to enhance grip.

If you ride both on and off-road, these are definitely the tires to choose.

We installed a Phil Wood outboard bottom bracket.

This BB is actually highly regarded for its durability, and our staff have experienced its amazing performance firsthand.
Previously, when participating in a heavy rain MTB race, we encountered numerous problems such as grease flowing out of the BB and poor rotation due to mud.

After the race, we maintained many customers' BBs, but only the Phil Wood BBs were surprisingly clean.
Unfortunately, we forgot to take evidentiary photos at the time, but since this experience, we've been able to confidently recommend Phil Wood's outboard BBs.

The drivetrain area features a Shimano GRX front single model.

The single front gear makes for a clean look and is easy to maintain and clean.

We installed Growtac Equal brakes. They are compact, effective, and come in a wide range of colors. They are a classic choice for mechanical brakes.

They are available in colors other than silver, so if you are using cable-actuated brakes, definitely consider upgrading!
