Converting your bicycle tires to tubeless dramatically reduces punctures.
Even if a hole opens up, the sealant will seal it in most cases. If the sealant can't seal it, a tubeless plug can be used to fix it. However, there are rare cases where even these methods cannot seal the hole.
When you've just replaced a tire or have a tire that still has plenty of life left, you probably find it hard to give up on it and wonder if it can be repaired and used.
That's where the Lezyne Tubeless Pro Plug comes in handy.
It seals the hole from the inside of the tire.
The process is similar to repairing a tube, but the difference from a regular patch is that it has a guide that inserts into the hole. This ensures that even large holes are securely sealed without the repair area shifting.
It's surprisingly easy to use.
1. Clean the inside of the tire: Wipe off any sealant or dirt from the repair area.
2. Sand around the hole to be repaired: Sand an area wider than the patch, centered on the hole. A light sanding is sufficient.
3. Apply rubber cement and let it dry: Apply it to an area wider than the patch and let it dry until it's no longer sticky to the touch.
4. Insert the guide into the open hole: Insert the guide and pull it through about halfway. It won't tear even if you pull a bit hard.
5. Attach the patch: Peel off the protective film from the adhesive side of the patch, pull the guide further to adhere it tightly to the tire, and press firmly with your fingers.
6. Trim the excess guide protruding outside: It's better to press it down again after trimming the excess guide.

With this, tubeless tire puncture repairs should be almost entirely manageable.
Since you need to trim the excess guide after repair, it's not suitable for repairs during a ride, but it's an item tubeless users should always keep in their toolbox.
Tubeless tires that were previously irreparable and had to be given up on might be saved with this method.
